Shooting at mosque leaves 1 wounded

-

Police say a bystander was wounded when a man fired shots inside an Arkansas mosque during an argument between two families.

The Times-Herald reported Monday that the 43-year-old man was in good condition when he was taken to a hospital in Memphis following the shooting Friday night in Forrest City.

Police say the shooting occurred during a meeting that was called to try and settle an undisclosed dispute between two families. The two families began to argue and one family member pulled a gun and fired three shots. The victim was not involved in the meeting.

The suspect was subdued by others in the room and was arrested on a battery charge. Court records do not show that formal charges have been filed.
