Yancy to retire from the MMBCC
Luke Yancy III will retire next year as president and CEO of Mid-South Minority Business Council Continuum, the council’s board announced Tuesday.
Yancy, 67, said his wife has pursued him for three years about retiring. She would like to travel while he will pursue other interests, he said.
He will remain with the organization until September 2017 for a smooth transition and national search for a successor.
“We hate to see Luke go, but respect his decision to pursue other personal and professional interests,” Fred L. Davis, MMBCC board chairman, said in a statement. “The organization has experienced tremendous growth under his visionary leadership.”
Yancy, whose salary for 2014 was about $226,000, according to an IRS filing, retired as west region president at AmSouth Bank before beginning his leadership of the MMBCC in July 2000.
