Collierville forfeiting 2 football games
The Collierville High School football team will forfeit two games due to inadvertent use of an ineligible player.
The TSSAA notified the school of the punishment in a letter to principal dated Sept. 1. The player in question was academically ineligible to play in the first two games, victories over St. Benedict on Aug. 19 and Center Hill on Aug. 26.
The player is ineligible for the remainder of the season and Collierville has been fined $100. Collierville reported the violation. After a loss to White Station last week, the Dragons head into Friday’s game against Millington with an 0-3 mark.
