Redbirds drop 4th straight: The Memphis Redbirds enjoyed an early lead during Sunday’s Easter Day matinee at AutoZone Park, but visiting Oklahoma City stormed back with single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to earn a 3-2 victory.

The loss was the fourth straight for the Redbirds (6-5).

Memphis’s Chad Huffman had a sacrifice fly scoring Patrick Wisdom in the second inning, while Breyvic Valera drove home Carson Kelly with an RBI single in the third.

Providing the biggest offensive pop for the Dodgers (7-4) was top prospect Cody Bellinger, who homered in the fifth and contributed a runscoring single two innings later.

The Redbirds conclude their seven-game homestand Monday against Oklahoma City at 11:05 a.m.

Finnegan becomes 4th Reds starter on DL: Left-hander Brandon Finnegan became the fourth Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher to go on the disabled list and is expected to miss at least a month because of a strained left shoulder.

Finnegan lasted just one inning of the Reds’ 7-5 win over the Brewers on Saturday and joined right-hander Rookie Davis on the 10-day disabled list Sunday. Right-handers Homer Bailey and Anthony DeSclafani are on the 60-day disabled list.

“We can realistically expect him to be back here in a few weeks, but it’s not going to be one or two weeks and he’ll be back in the mix,” manager Bryan Price said before Sunday’s series finale. “At least two to three weeks of rest. This is something they can re-scan and check on the healing and decide if he can start throwing.”

Cincinnati optioned rookie outfielder Jesse Winker to Louisville and recalled Tim Adleman and rookie Sal Romano from the Triple-A farm team.

Romano started and left trailing 3-0 after three innings in his major league debut Sunday, giving up three runs, three hits and four walks, and also hitting a batter.

Rays’s Odorizzi on DL with strained hamstring: Right-hander Jake Odorizzi has been put on the 10-day disabled list by the Tampa Bay Rays because of a strained left hamstring.

Odorizzi left his start Saturday after throwing the first pitch of the second inning during Boston’s 2-1 win over the Rays.

Manager Kevin Cash said after the game that “we anticipate this will be a short stay.”

Right-hander Chase Whitley was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Sunday.

Giants OF Parker has broken collarbone: Jarrett Parker was placed on the 10-day disabled list by the San Francisco Giants on Sunday, a day after he broke his collarbone by slamming into the fence while catching a fly ball.

The 28-year-old, hitting .143 in nine games this season, robbed Colorado’s DJ LeMahieu of a potential extra-base hit in the Rockies’ 5-0 win Saturday at San Francisco.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that Parker likely will be out about eight weeks.

“He’s probably looking at some kind of surgery to get it fixed,” Bochy said. “They do need to get it fixed, so this thing will heal quicker and we’ll get him back sooner.”

Bochy said Parker “about passed out from the pain” and was very upset Saturday.

Orioles place closer Britton on 10-day DL: Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left forearm.

Britton says he felt pain while throwing a curveball in the ninth inning of Friday’s win over the Blue Jays. Britton earned the save in that game, his fifth this season, and matched Tom Gordon by converting his 54th consecutive opportunity, the second-longest streak ever. The record belongs to Eric Gagne (84).

Baltimore manager Buck Showalter says he isn’t certain Britton will be ready to return as soon as he’s eligible on April 26.

Goffin beats Darcis at Monte Carlo Masters: Tenth-seeded David Goffin won an all-Belgian contest to reach the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Sunday as the first big tournament of the clay court season got underway.

Goffin broke Steve Darcis five times and needed just 72 minutes to post a 6-2, 6-1 win at the Country Club.

“I played well from the start,” said Goffin, who will be up against either Nicolas Almagro or a qualifier in the next round. “I made him run a lot. I was playing very well tactically. I was playing the right way. I’m very happy with that. It’s never easy to play against a friend.”

Frenchman Gilles Simon, a former semifinalist in Monte Carlo, set up a second-round match with former top-ranked and two-time champion Novak Djokovic by defeating Malek Jaziri 6-2, 6-2.

Joao Sousa also advanced with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Florian Mayer.

Vondrousova won her first tour title hours after the 36-year-old Francesca Schiavone was the other WTA tournament winner in Bogota, Colombia.

Schiavone played in WTA events in her native Italy before Vondrousova was born in June 1999.

The 233rd-ranked Czech clinched the first edition of the Swiss indoor hard-court tournament when Kontaveit netted a forehand under pressure from another powerful ground stroke.
