2-star LB Chris Russell commits to Memphis
Memphis' recruiting momentum continued to pick up steam when twostar inside linebacker Chris Russell from Dyersburg committed to the Tigers late Monday night.
Russell became the second commit of the day after cornerback Chris Johnson from Mississippi announced his commitment via Twitter. With threestar running back Rodrigues Clark committing on Sunday, the Tigers have secured five commitments since June 5 and seven overall.
For perspective, Memphis only had five 2018 commits at this point exactly a year ago.
Russell, who is 6-foot-2 and 220 lbs., had offers from Georgia Tech and Tennessee-Martin. He was offered by Memphis on June 2 according to his Twitter page.
