‘Entitlements’ we paid for

There’s something that I think has been overlooked because of the amount of news coverage of the immigration problems. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan stated recently that the federal deficit is the most critical issue facing America. This is the same Paul Ryan who was instrumental in passing the massive tax cuts that nonpartisan

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7 groups say will add $1 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years. As I expected he wants to reduce the deficit with cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

For those of you who use the word “entitlements” like it’s a dirty word, people who have been paying into Medicare and Social Security all of their working lives are entitled to receive what was promised. Please think about this when you vote this fall.

A message from the border

After the incarnation of thousands of children on our southern border, I am reminded that: “Without truth and justice, there is only cruelty.”

‘Hooligans’ costing taxpayers

The unnecessary taxpayer expense of the extra security detail at the mayor’s home was rendered necessary by the hooligans who trespassed on his lawn and looked through his windows to “make a statement.”

No public official should have to be subjected to such behavior by people who do not understand how to lawfully protest. They should be sent the bill.
