Are you sabotaging your sleep? 8 tips for better ZZZs

With the stresses of daily life, family and work along with our technology devices, one might ask, “How can I get a good night’s sleep?”

While the answer is going to be slightly different for everyone, one clue might be to look at daytime habits and determine if we are sabotaging our sleep. For instance, are we eating heavy meals an hour before we are winding down to go to sleep? Or, are we having an extra three cups of coffee at 3 p.m.?

Limit caffeine and avoid big meals at night. Caffeine is a stimulant, which can cause restless sleep up to 12 hours after drinking it. By eating dinner earlier in the evening and avoiding heavy foods within 1 to 2 hours of bed, you allow your body time to digest.
