TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE

-

Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. Daniel 5:8

Red-light ticket errors

I received a Red Light Violation Notice in the mail two weeks ago. The notice was sent in error. I remember the day, time, location and the amber light that I crossed. In fact, the writing above the picture of my vehicle entering that intersection clearly states “Amber,” and clearly states “Amber” on the picture of my vehicle clearing that intersection.

Apparently, whoever in Memphis received the pictures from American Traffic Solutions, the Arizona company that installs the cameras and administers the program, did not study them. Instead, they were just submitted to the Knoxville-based collection agency.

I mailed a letter to the Knoxville group, with a copy to Memphis Police

LETTERS

Email letters to letters@commercial appeal.com; mail Letters to the Editor, The Commercial Appeal, 495 Union, Memphis, TN 38103; or click on the “Submit Letter” link on the Opinion page atcommercialappeal.com. Director Michael Rallings and my City Council representative, Patrice Robinson, to advise them of the error and that I will not appeal the ticket, nor review the tape, nor pay the $50 fine or any late fee.

I will see what comes from that. I wonder how many notices are sent in error and how many recipients voluntarily pay the $50 fine? Vernell Stepter III, Memphis
