1. Tuesday will mark three years since Lausanne lost a football game

Lausanne beat ECS 35-14 in the DIIAA quarterfinals Friday night, extending its winning streak to 38 games, the 10th-longest in the country according to MaxPreps. The last time Lausanne lost was Nov. 13, 2015 when the Lynx fell to St. George's 42-10.

Eric Gray rushed for 246 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries in his final career home game. The touchdowns pushed his state career record to 137. Erek Campbell blocked a punt to set up a touchdown and scored one of his own with a 44-yard punt return.

Next week, the Lynx travel to Nashville to face Christ Presbyterian Academy in the semifinals. CPA LB Kane Patterson (Clemson commitment), and Gray (Michigan commitment) are the No. 7 and No. 8 prospects in the state, respectively, according to 247Sports.

2. Germantown vs. Whitehaven and Kirby vs. Henry County should be awesome games

Germantown, Kirby and Whitehaven, three of the most prolific offenses in the area, all won by less than a touchdown. Germantown beat Central 24-19. Kirby prevailed over Southwind 36-34, and Whitehaven topped Houston 31-27.

Now Germantown and Whitehaven will play each other in the 6A quarterfinals. Germantown beat Whitehaven 3719 on Oct. 25. But Whitehaven made it to last year's semifinals, while Germantown lost in the second round.

Kirby will take on Henry County in the 5A quarterfinals. Both teams have just one loss. Kirby lost to Olive Branch 42-21 on Sept. 7, and Henry County lost to Germantown 31-21 on Sept. 28.

3. MUS is the last local DII-AAA team standing

Briarcrest, Christian Brothers and MUS each had a chance to make the DIIAAA semifinals.

MUS was the only team to advance, beating Pope John Paul II 42-17. Sellers Shy scored four touchdowns, one passing and three rushing. Maurice Hampton had 103 yards receiving and an interception. MUS will play McCallie Friday night.

Briarcrest lost 10-3 to MBA and Christian Brothers lost 21-14 to Brentwood Academy.

4. Freedom Prep advances to first quarterfinal in school history

Freedom Prep beat Greenfield 34-25 to advance to its first 1A quarterfinal appearance. The Eagles, who started their program last year, were shut out by Lake County in the first round in 2017. The two teams will play again on Friday night's quarterfinal.

5. Fayette Academy one win from potential rematch with Davidson Academy

Fayette Academy showed no signs of rust coming off a bye week, crushing Middle Tennessee Christian 49-14. The Vikings advanced to the DII-A semifinals against Friendship Christian. A Fayette Academy win could set up a rematch with Davidson Academy for the state championship. The two teams put up a combined 118 points when they played on Oct. 4.
