NASHVILLE — The top-ranked U.S. Women's National Team will play at Nissan Stadium on March 2 as part of a soccer doubleheader that will feature four teams ranked in the top eight in the world.

Nashville has been selected as a site for the 2019 SheBelieves Cup. The U.S. will play third-ranked England, and seventh-ranked Japan will play eighth-ranked Brazil in the doubleheader. Last year's event took place in Columbus, Ohio; Harrison, N.J.; and Orlando.

This will mark the fourth appearance by the U.S. women's team, which won the 2015 World Cup, at Nissan Stadium. The facility hosted the 2016 SheBelieves Cup and drew a crowd of 25,353.

The event will be part of the lead-up to the 2019 Women's World Cup, which will be held in France.

The SheBelieves initiative was started in 2015 by members of the U.S. Women's National Team. The U.S. Soccer website describes it as "a movement to inspire and encourage girls and women of all ages to achieve their dreams," athletic or otherwise. Tickets will go on sale next week.
