Fu­neral for 9-year-old killed in bus crash set for Dec. 15

Fu­neral ar­range­ments for the 9-yearold who died when a bus car­ry­ing Mem­phis youth foot­ball play­ers over­turned in Arkansas on Mon­day have been made.

Kameron Johnson’s fu­neral will be at 1 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 15, at Seren­ity Fu­neral Home, ac­cord­ing to the Mem­phis fu­neral home. A vis­i­ta­tion will be 1-7 p.m. Fri­day, Dec. 14, at Seren­ity.

Kameron was a third-grader at Cole­man El­e­men­tary and played for the Mem­phis Wolf­pack foot­ball team in the Orange Mound Youth As­so­ci­a­tion.

Kameron’s fu­neral ex­penses were paid for via fundrais­ing ef­forts from the state-run Achieve­ment School Dis­trict, As­pire Schools and the School Seed Foun­da­tion, per a Face­book post from Kameron’s foot­ball team.

The bus crash oc­curred near Ben­ton, Arkansas, and more than 40 stu­dents were in­jured and taken to area hospi­tals.

The bus that car­ried the foot­ball teams from Orange Mound that crashed out­side Ben­ton, Arkansas, is towed away from the scene of the ac­ci­dent Dec. 3. BRAD VEST / THE COM­MER­CIAL AP­PEAL
