Bowl gifts for Vandy, Memphis, MTSU players

Swag gifts have become part of the benefit to players in bowl games; well, that, and the reward of playing in the postseason.

The NCAA allows bowl committees to give each participan­t gifts totaling a maximum value of $550.

According to the Sports Business Journal, here are bowl gifts given to Vanderbilt, Memphis and Middle Tennessee players for their respective bowl games, as well as participan­ts in the Music City Bowl and Liberty Bowl:

Vanderbilt gifts in Texas Bowl

For the Texas Bowl in Houston on Dec. 27, Vanderbilt players will receive a gift suite, Academy Sports + Outdoors gift card, Adidas backpack, iSlide sandals and Texas Bowl belt buckle.

Memphis gifts in Birmingham Bowl

For the Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 22, Memphis players will receive a gift suite, Oakley sunglasses, a beanie, a hooded sweatshirt and a "Big Game" football.

MTSU gifts in New Orleans Bowl

For the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 15, MTSU players will receive a gift suite and Fossil watch.

Gifts for Music City Bowl teams

For the Music City Bowl on Dec. 28, Purdue and Auburn players will receive a gift suite and Fossil watch.

Gifts for Liberty Bowl teams

For the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31, Missouri and Oklahoma State players will receive a shopping trip to Memphis' Bass Pro Shops; Bose SoundLink micro Bluetooth speaker, Bulova watch, a Liberty Bowl football and Nike shoes, sandals, backpack and sunglasses.
