Best of the best: TripAdvisor honors 3 Memphis restaurants
TripAdvisor has announced its annual Travelers’ Choice Restaurant Awards, which recognizes the top restaurants in the United States and the world.
There were three winners from Memphis this year, including one in the top five.
The big winner was Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar, which landed in the No. 5 spot on the list of Top Fine Dining Restaurants in the United States.
“We are humbled by this acknowledgment from TripAdvisor,” said Jack Mahoney, managing partner of Flight. “We are thrilled to know that these diners thoroughly enjoyed their overall experience at Flight and gave us such high marks. We also would like to congratulate the other restaurants which were also part of the list, including Gabriel Kreuther in New York City and Halls Chophouse in Charleston.”
Last year, Flight was the only Tennessee restaurant on the list, coming in at No. 17 among U.S. fine dining restaurants. Once again, Flight is the only Tennessee restaurant in that category.
Two new categories in the annual awards this year were the Everyday Dining and Fast Casual industry segments. TripAdvisor’s Everyday Dining category honors restaurants that provide great meals for any occasion, while the Fast Casual awards go to restaurants that offer high-quality meals at a great value to diners on the go.
Memphis had two restaurants make the United States Everyday Dining listing.
B.B. King's Blues Club placed 14th, and Central BBQ placed 21st.
TripAdvisor determines award winners using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.

Luckily, diners can use this list to find the ideal eatery for any occasion — from formal to casual and everything in between.”
