Aus­tria avalanche kills 3 skiers; 2 ski pa­trollers die in France

BER­LIN – Three Ger­man skiers have been killed in an avalanche in Aus­tria and a fourth is miss­ing, po­lice said Sun­day as snow­fall set in again in the Alps. In France, two ski pa­trollers were killed when the de­vices they use to trig­ger avalanches ex­ploded.

The two ac­ci­dents brought to at least 26 the weather-re­lated deaths re­ported in Europe this month.

The bod­ies of the three Ger­mans were re­cov­ered Satur­day evening.

Marchers mark the 100th an­niver­sary of the deaths of Rosa Lux­em­burg and Karl Liebknecht in Ber­lin on Sun­day.
