MEMPHIS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: TOP 5 GAMES

Memphis East will be out of town at the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in Springfiel­d, Mo., this weekend. But there is still plenty of local action to keep an eye on. Here are the top five games of the week.

BOYS Game of the week Bartlett (18-2) at Cordova (13-5)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Cordova has won five of its past six and hosts region leader Bartlett. Bartlett, led by Ole Miss signee Antavion Collum, hasn’t lost to a TSSAA team yet.

Raleigh Egypt (15-5) at Trezevant (10-8)

When: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday This is a matchup between two of the top scoring guards in the area, Raleigh Egypt senior Deovaunta Williams and Trezevant sophomore Jalen Brown.

Fairley (10-3) at B.T. Washington (8-5)

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday Fairley beat B.T. Washington 59-56 earlier in the season. But that was when the Bulldogs were riding a hot streak and won eight of their first 10 games. Can Fairley snap its three game losing streak?

GIRLS Game of the week Southwind (14-6) at Houston (16-2)

When: 6 p.m. Tuesday Southwind has some strong wins on its resume, including over Horn Lake and Mitchell. This week the Lady Jaguars face Houston, which has a perfect home record. When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday This is a rematch. Horn Lake won 59-56 the first time. Now Mitchell gets a chance to avenge the loss on the road.
