Here are 9 acts performing during Graceland Live
Bret Michaels of Poison, Boz Scaggs, George Thorogood and The Destroyers, and Brian Setzer’s Rockabilly Riot are among the artists who will help usher in regular live performances at Elvis Presley’s home, as part of the “Graceland Live” concert program.
In December, Elvis Presley Enterprises and Live Nation announced they were teaming up to bring a year-round slate of concerts to the 2,000-capacity Graceland Soundstage at the Elvis Presley’s Memphis complex and the 464-capacity theater inside The Guest House at Graceland hotel.
Elvis Presley Enterprises has announced an initial slate of nine concerts, kicking off March 23 with a performance by Michaels at the Graceland Soundstage. Events will continue at the Graceland Guest House Theatre on April 6, with a stand-up comedy set from Billy Gardell.
Blues-rockers Thorogood and The Destroyers will headline the Soundstage on April 13. With performances by Buckcherry (April 19), the Allman Betts Band (May 3), Stryper (June 2), Boz Scaggs (June 16) and Chubby Checker (June 22), and Brian Setzer’s Rockabilly Riot (Aug. 21) to follow.
“Graceland is already the most famous music destination in the world,” Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Graceland Holdings, told The Commercial Appeal in December. “And we want to make it one of the most famous destinations to see live music as well.”
Weinshanker suggested there would be as many as 50 shows at the two Graceland venues in 2019.
General public tickets for all nine shows announced went on sale Jan. 25. . Tickets will be available at graceland live.com or by calling (877) 777-0606.
