Here’s a look at promotions, hirings and other noteworthy business events in the Memphis area:
❚ Charnell Cain joined Methodist Medical Group and will sees patients at 1325 Eastmoreland, Suite 150 near Methodist University Hospital. She earned her medical degree in osteopathic medicine from Lincoln Memorial Universitydebusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tenn.
❚ C Spire Business, a subsidiary of the Ridgeland, Mississippi,-based diversified telecommunications and technology services company, was recognized for innovation, leadership and best practices in the area of state, local and education information technology sales and service. The company has stores in Memphis and Southaven. Additionally, C Spire president Stephen Bye was named one of the U.S. wireless industry’s most powerful persons along with 25 other executives from public and private telecom, cable and technology firms, along with chip maker senior leaders, government agency officials and regulators.
❚ Consulting, contracting and direct hire firm Vaco Memphis promoted Amanda Davis to director of business operations. Since 2014, she served as special projects and marketing manager.
❚ Dr. Mary Mcdonald joined the board of the nonprofit Junior Achievement of Memphis and the Mid-south.
❚ The Public Relations Society of America presented advertising, public relations, design and digital marketing firm inferno with 3 awards at its 25th VOX Awards ceremony. In Special Events: Two days or More category, a Vox Award, the PRSA’S highest honor, was given for “Eclectic Eye City & State Pop-up” and Gold awards were earned for “Campaigns: Community Relations, Carolina Watershed Grand Opening” and Media Tactics: News Release–feature for “Transnetyx ‘Brick in the Wall’ ” documentary promotion.
❚ Three new hires were made by the Burch, Porter & Johnson law firm. John R. “Mac” Mccarroll is a senior attorney. Sarah E. Smith and Patrick J. Hillard are new associates. Mr. Mccarroll earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi while Ms. Smith and Mr. Hillard received their degrees from the University of Memphis.
❚ Memphian Laura Deakins has taken over the reins of the Memphis chap- ter of the Association for Women Attorneys. Prior to her new role as president, she served as the organization’s president-elect and vice president. Recently, she accepted an appointment from the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve as a Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Hearing Committee member.
❚ Forest To Floor wholesale hardwood flooring distributor and design center, added Josh Wilbanks as vice president of distribution for the company’s North Little Rock and Memphis locations. He oversees the sales teams and day-to-day operations of both locations.
