Gladys Knight, Jeffrey Osborne to play Classic Concert 2019
Fresh off her appearance singing the national anthem at Super Bowl LIII, “The Empress of Soul,” Gladys Knight, has been confirmed as one of the headliners for the Classic Concert 2019, part of the annual Southern Heritage Classic festivities.
Knight will appear along with fellow soul singer Jeffrey Osborne for a performance at 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Orpheum.
The 30th edition of Southern Heritage Classic runs Sept. 11-14. In addition to the centerpiece football game pitting Tennessee State against Jackson State at the Liberty Bowl on Sept. 14, the program will include a parade, career fair and fashion show.
Tickets for the Knight/osborne concert are $128, $98, $88 and $68. They go on sale at 10 a.m. March 1 and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-7453000.
