Week 9 Memphis-area high school football top performers
Here’s the Week 9 list of Memphis-area high school football top performers, based on statistics submitted to The Commercial Appeal:
OFFENSE
Gunner Campbell, Briarcrest. Campbell made eight catches for 78 yards and accounted for two touchdowns in a 35-6 victory over Cordova.
Michael Dallas, Briarcrest. Dallas was 22 of 35 passing for 213 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-6 victory over Cordova.
Jabari Small, Briarcrest. Small helped keep the Saints undefeated with 64 rushing yards and two touchdowns in s 35-6 win against Cordova.
Trace Heffernan, CBHS. Heffernan ran for 83 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-0 win over St. Benedict.
Al Wooten, CBHS. Wooten accounted for a pair of touchdowns in the first three minutes of his team’s 49-0 victory over St. Benedict.
Marcus Hayes, Covington. Hayes ran the ball 28 times for 113 yards and one touchdown in a 20-13 loss to South Gibson.
Jaylen Greenwood, ECS. Greenwood had 15 carries for 134 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-6 win against St. George’s.
Matthew Mcmeans, ECS. Mcmeans rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-6 victory over St. George’s.
Tucker White, ECS. White ran for 100 yards and one touchdown in a 49-6 win against St. George’s.
Darrell Pittman Jr., FACS. Pittman Jr. rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-21 win against Harding Academy.
Cole Putnam, FACS. Putnam had 19 carries for 212 yards and accounted for two touchdowns (one receiving) in a 34-21 victory over Harding Academy.
Kody Jones, Fairley. Jones made the most of his seven carries in a 50-6 victory over Trezevant, rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns.
Reid Swolensky, Harding Academy. Swolensky had 19 rushing attempts for 110 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-21 loss at FACS.
Draylen Ellis, Kirby. Ellis was 9-of-13 passing for 175 yards and accounted for three touchdowns (one receiving) in a 3027 overtime loss to Munford.
Craig Cunningham, Lausanne. Cunningham rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-0 victory over Westwood. He also accounted for a safety – his team’s first two points on the night.
Kyle Lowe, Lausanne. Lowe threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-0 win against Westwood.
Antonyus Moore, Middle College. Moore ran for 84 yards, one rushing TD and had one receiving TD in a 60-12 victory versus East. Defensively, he contributed one interception.
Keeveon Ransfer, Middle College. Ransfer had 10 carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns in a 60-12 win over East. He also had a TD reception.
Joyner Stephens, Middle College. Stephens ran the ball nine times for 102 yards and one touchdown in a 60-12 victory against East.
Tommy Clifton, Millington. Clifton had 22 carries for 194 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-12 win over Fayetteware. He also threw for 88 yards and one more TD.
Vaught Benge, MUS. Benge began and finished his team’s scoring with 10-yard touchdown passes in a 36-33 doubleovertime victory at Pope John Paul II.
Hunter Kendall, MUS. Kendall had 26 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-33 double-overtime win over Pope John Paul II.
Carlos Mcdowell, Oakhaven. Mcdowell played a huge role in his team’s 4012 victory over Bluff City with 128 rushing yards, 103 receiving yards and three total touchdowns, including a 70-yard interception return.
Isaac Smith, St. George’s. Smith caught three passes for 100 yards and one touchdown in a 49-6 loss to ECS.
Wilson Whittemore, St. George’s. Whittemore threw for 155 yards and one touchdown in a 49-6 loss at ECS.
Tyler Byrd, Tipton-rosemark. Byrd caught six passes for 80 yards in a 28-8 loss to Columbia Academy.
Payne Fullen, Tipton-rosemark. Fullen threw for 118 yards and a touchdown in a 28-8 loss to Columbia Academy.

DEFENSE
Tristan Bullock and Tyler Pegues, FACS. The Crusader duo registered eight solo tackles apiece and combined for three assists in a 34-21 victory over Harding Academy.
Jalen Harris, Fairley. Harris had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, in a 50-6 victory over Trezevant.
Benjamin Calvin, Middle College. Calvin had eight tackles and one forced fumble in a 60-12 win against East. Offensively, he threw a pair of TD passes.
Rashad Kahill and Tyler Mcleod, Middle College. The Bulldog duo combined for 13 tackles (4 TFL) in a 60-12 victory over East.
Jermaine Parker, Middle College. Parker made 11 tackles (2 TFL) and recovered a fumble in a 60-12 win versus East. Kahill also forced a fumble.
Elliot Allen and Darius Brown, MUS. The Owl duo combined for 15.5 total tackles (3 TFL) in a 49-0 win against St. Benedict.
Charlie Street, MUS. Street made a game-high 10 total tackles (7 solo and 6 assists) in a 49-0 victory over St. Benedict.
