With Week 9 of the prep football season complete, here’s a roundup of games based on informatio­n submitted to The Commercial Appeal:

Lausanne 51, Westwood 0: The host Lynx used a rapid-fire offense to their advantage in improving to 3-4. In seven drives that ended with touchdowns, Lausanne needed a combined 3:01 off the clock. Craig Cunningham ran for two touchdowns, while Kyle Lowe threw TD passes to Tavin Davis and Nick Floyd. KJ Sneed, Kylen Hodges and Jonas also scored. Westwood fell to 2-6.

FACS 34, Harding Academy 21: Another 200-yard plus rushing performanc­e by Cole Putnam allowed the Crusader quarterbac­k to eclipse to 1,000-yard mark for the season, as FACS upped its record to 5-3. Putnam had a 25-yard TD run, yet teammate Darrell Pittman Jr. had three touchdowns to go along with his 117 rushing yards. Harding Academy (1-7) was fueled by the 110 yards on the ground from Reid Swolensky, who also had three touchdowns.

Columbia Academy 28, Tipton-rosemark Academy 8: The visiting Bulldogs built a four-touchdown lead before the Rebels broke up the shutout bid with Payne Fullen’s 17-yard TD pass to Jalen Hurt in the fourth quarter. Fullen finished with 118 yards passing, with Tyler Byrd serving as his favorite target (6 catches for 80 yards). TRA (4-5) closes out its regular season next week at Nashville Christian.

CBHS 49, St. Benedict 0: The tone at Tom Nix Stadium was set when Al Wooten returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown. Wooten found the endzone again less than two minutes later – and the Purple Wave upped their record to 4-3 with the convincing home win. Trace Heffernan led CBHS with 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Dallen Hayden, Ashton Strother and Connor Maness also had touchdowns. St. Benedict dropped to 2-5. MUS 36, Pope John Paul II 33 (2OT): After a scoreless second half, the visiting Owls found their offense in the extra session, including Vaught Benge’s game-winning 10-yard touchdown pass to Clarkson Shoaf. MUS (7-1) began overtime with Hunter Kendall’s 5-yard TD – his second of the night. The Owls enjoyed a 23-6 lead at the break on the strength of touchdowns from Cody Hopkins and Edwin Shy. This was the 10th overtime contest in MUS program history, with the Owls now 4-6 overall. Briarcrest 35, Cordova 6: With Jabari Small running the ball and Michael Dallas passing it so well, the Saints (8-0) just keep on rolling. Smart had 64 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Dallas completed 22 of his 35 passes for 213 yards and two more scores. Will Robertson and Gunner Campbell were on the receiving end of the Dallas TD throws, with the latter also scoring on a punt return. Cordova (3-5) avoided the shutout with a fourth-quarter fumble return.

ECS 49, St. George’s 6: Three running backs went over the 100-yard mark for the Eagles, who improved to 7-1 with the home win. Matthew Mcmeans and Jaylen Greenwood led the way with 153 and 134 yards, respective­ly. Tucker White finished with 100 yards. The trio combined for six touchdowns. Isaac Smith caught an 86-yard TD pass from Wilson Whittemore in the fourth quarter for the Gryphons (3-5).

South Gibson 20, Covington 13: The Chargers clung to a 13-10 halftime advantage before the Hornets rallied for the road win. Marcus Hayes, on 28 carries, ran for 113 yards and Covington’s first touchdown. Carson Ruffin scored the other TD for the Chargers (6-2). Middle College 60, East 12 (Wednesday): The Bulldogs jumped out to a 38-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Keeveon Ransfer rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to a 6-yard TD reception. Joyner Stephens and Antonyus Moore combined to account for three more scores. East did all of its scoring in the third quarter.
