Apartment complex planned in Cordova
Memphis real estate firm Cypress Realty Holdings Co. plans to fill vacant land near the corner of Houston Levee Road and Walnut Grove Road in Cordova with new apartments.
The plans were revealed in an application for the Land Use Control Board to consider changing zoning restrictions to allow the development.
The plans call for 28 new buildings, including apartments, a leasing office and a clubhouse. Developers also plan to construct a pavilion on the site. The application did not say how many apartments would be included, but renderings show the buildings would be three stories.
Portions of the area are zoned for commercial use, and the development company wants that altered to allow apartments. The application did not reveal the average size and cost of the apartments or a timeline for when the work would begin.
The Land Use Control Board will discuss the project at a 9:30 a.m. meeting on Dec. 12 in the City Council chambers at 125 N. Main St. The meeting is public.
Several smaller projects are also on the agenda for the meeting, including a site plan review for a golf practice pavilion on the campus of Rhodes College at 2000 North Parkway and a 19lot residential subdivision between Wilburn Avenue and Princeton Road near Mendenhall Road in East Memphis.
