GERMANTOWN - Katherine Buchanan Brock, 90, passed away peacefully July 15, 2020, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House, 1520 W. Poplar Avenue, Colliervil­le, TN. A Shelby County native, she was born on August 2, 1929 daughter of the late Edward Kennedy and Marjorie Polk Kennedy. In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her late husband, Milton Brock; her children’s father, L. B. (Buck) Buchanan, Jr.; two sisters, Marjorie Kennedy Neal and Jean Kennedy Felts, two stepsons, Mike Brock and James Brock. She is survived by two daughters, Liz Frisch of Memphis, TN, and Mary Stanley Buchanan of Germantown, TN, two sons Brandon Buchanan (Elizabeth) Buchanan of Flower Mound, TX, and Ken Buchanan of Germantown, TN; three grandsons: Jonathan Frisch, Robert Buchanan, Grant Buchanan; three granddaugh­ters: Alicia Neff (Johnny), Katie Vogel (Michael), and Carolyn Frisch; four great-grandchild­ren: Julian Neff, Colin Neff, Penelope Vogel, and Palmer Vogel.

Mrs. Brock was a resident of Memphis and Germantown her entire life. She was a graduate of Lausanne School for Girls, Memphis, TN where she was homecoming queen. Katherine was a member of TDS Sorority and a model for Donna Groff Agency and National Awards of Memphis. She enjoyed drawing and painting. She served as a volunteer at Bellevue Baptist Church and the Love Worth Finding ministries of Dr. Adrian Rogers as well as serving as a Sunshine Lady at the Village of Germantown. Mrs. Brock was a caregiver for many years for various family members, faithfully looking after loved ones. Among these was her uncle, known well in the Memphis area as the beloved “High School Henry” Polk.

Katherine had a strong faith. At the age of 29, she was invited to attend a Bible Study and was told the story of Jesus. She accepted Jesus as her Savior and then shared her testimony with her children. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Eads, TN.

The family wishes to give special thanks to The Village at Germantown (for being so loving and giving an exceptiona­l level of care), Baptist East Hospital Hospice, and Baptist Reynolds Hospice House for their care and support.

The family will receive friends from 9:00-9:45 AM followed by a graveside service at 10:00 AM, on Friday, July 24, 2020, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway Bartlett, TN 38133.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, 125 Houston Levee, Eads, TN; Love Worth Finding - Ministries of Dr. Adrian Rogers, 2941 Kate Bond Road, Memphis, TN 38133; or a church of your choice.
