TSSAA girls soccer state tournament opens up Friday
The TSSAA girls soccer state tournament begins Friday.
The Division I tournaments will be played on Friday, Saturday and Monday, while the Division II tournaments are set for Saturday and Sunday.

All games are played at Richard Siegel Soccer Complex.
The five championship games will be played in the stadium on site.

Tickets for the tournament are $10 with a $5 parking fee.
TSSAA girls soccer players to watch
Brooke Ashworth (Valor Prep, Fr., GK): Ashworth has allowed two goals in postseason play as the Lady Wildcats advanced to the Class A state tournament for the first time.
Kayla Barr (Maryville, So., F): Barr has been at the center of the Lady Rebels' attack with 30 goals and seven assists.
Caroline Betts (CPA, Jr., F): Betts has 39 goals on the season for an average of 2.29 goals per game with 175 goals in her career.
Ana Boero (Hume-fogg, Sr., GK): Boero has 81 saves with nine goals given up in a Covid-shortened 10-game season.
Nor Burton (St. George's, Sr. D): Burton anchors the Gryphons' backline with the ability to create offense.
Allie Chappell (Mckenzie, Sr., F): Chappell has 22 goals and nine assists for a Lady Rebel team that has played one postseason match.
Ashleigh Clark (Murfreesboro Central, Jr. F): Clark has 19 goals and 12 assists for the Lady Tigers trying to build on last year's Class AA semifinal appearance.
Lindsey Cook (Greeneville, Sr., M): Cook has 24 goals and 10 assists for the defending Class AA state champions.
Morgan English (USJ, So., F): English has scored 45 goals this season with nine assists for 132 goals so far in her career.
Ashley Grant (GPS, Sr., F): The Wofford commitment has scored 19 goals to
go along with six assists for the undefeated Bruisers.
Kaitlin Huntley (Livingston Academy, Sr., F): Huntley has scored 18 goals and nine assists for the Lady Wildcats making their first appearance.
Abby Johnson (Collierville, Sr., M): Johnson has six goals on the season in the Lady Dragons' 11-match season.
Lucy James Knox (Brentwood Academy, Sr., D): The Auburn commit has three goals and three assists, including the game-winner in the Division IIAA quarterfinals against St. Agnes.
Kaitlyn Koster (Merrol Hyde, Sr., GK): Koster hasn't allowed a goal against a Class A opponent this season as the Lady Hawks are making their fourth straight appearance in the Class A state tournament.
Trysta Lane (Seymour, So., M): Lane has scored eight goals and added four assists as the Lady Eagles try to repeat 2018's trek to the Class AA title game.
Bonnie Lauderback (Alcoa, Sr., F): Lauderback has 19 goals and two assists after finishing as the 2019 Class A runner-up.
Kallie Martindale (Adamsville, Sr. F): Martindale has 34 goals on the season, leaving her one goal short of 100 goals for her career.
Brinley Murphy (Bearden, So., F): Murphy has led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 goals and 14 assists.
Hannah Opie (Stewarts Creek, Jr., F): Opie has scored 22 goals and added 13 assists for the Lady Red Hawks that have lost in the Class AAA quarterfinals the last two seasons.
Kayla Peterson (South Gibson, Sr., M): Peterson has 20 goals on the season, including the lone goal in the Class AA sectional win over Fayette-ware.
Marcela Forero Pretto (Ravenwood, Sr., F): Pretto has eight goals and five assists in 13 matches for the defending Class AAA state champions.
Kennedy Price (BGA, Jr., M): The Ole Miss commitment has 21 goals and 18 assists for the defending Division II-A state champions.
Aly Ramsey (Cumberland Gap, So., F): Ramsey had 36 goals and 28 assists for the undefeated Lady Panthers making their first Class A state tournament appearance.
Emma Shields (Franklin, Jr. M):
Shields has five goals and six assists for the Layd Admirals, making their first appearance since 2017.
Sarah Strong (Briarcrest, Sr., M): Strong has four goals and 10 assists in the Lady Saints' 12-match season.
