Here's Friday's Memphis-area high school football roundup of TSSAA and MHSAA playoff games:

ECS 14, BGA 13: The host Eagles earned a spot in the TSSAA Division II-AA semifinals following a clutch twopoint conversion stop in overtime. After BGA quarterbac­k Brett Brown scored from the 1 on fourth down, the ECS defense denied tailback Sean Williams' game-winning run to improve to 9-2. The Eagles' scored first in the extra session on a Jacob Hatcher QB sneak. Ethan Perkins kicked the extra point. In regulation, both teams scored in the third quarter, with ECS pulling even at 7 when Hatcher hooked up with Will Arthur on a 15-yard touchdown pass. Jaylen Greenwood rushed for 163 yards for the Eagles, who will host Lipscomb Academy next Friday. MUS 41, Father Ryan 17: The visiting Owls broke open a close game with 20 third-quarter points and will advance to the TSSAA Division II-AAA semifinals. Among the second-half offensive heroes were Hunter Barnes, who scored on a 24-yard run, and Christophe­r Goodwin, who scored two of his three touchdowns on the night from 1 and 2 yards out. Barnes finished with 119 rushing yards and also had an 18yard TD reception, while Edwin Shy threw for 181 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Mckay. MUS (9-2) will play the winner of Saturday's Mba-baylor contest.

Henry County 51, Brighton 16: The visiting Cardinals saw their season come to a close in the second round of the TSSAA Class 5A playoffs. Brighton ends its year with a 6-6 record. Henry County advances to play Clarksvill­e Northeast.

Hernando 36, South Panola 33: Shawn Wade's two-yard touchdown plunge in the fourth quarter afforded Hernando the opportunit­y to win the “Battle of the Tigers” in Batesville. Now, Hernando keeps its dreams of winning a MHSAA Class 6A state championsh­ip alive with next Friday's second-round playoff clash at Oxford. Zack Wilcke threw for two Hernando touchdowns, including one to Reed Flanagan right before halftime.

Ridgeland 36, Lake Cormorant 28: The back-and-forth MHSAA Class 5A firstround playoff game ended in favor of the visiting Titans. Zy Mcdonald's TD pass to Donovan Ball with 13.8 seconds left proved to be the difference. Jaiden Gray, Jordan Martin and Tony Mccray all had touchdowns for the Gators. Clinton 35, Horn Lake 7: The visiting Eagles fell behind 28-0 at halftime in their MHSAA Class 6A first-round loss. Horn Lake scored in the third quarter on a Drevion Williams fumble return.
