The BBQ All Stars features barbecue from pit masters

Melissa Cookston, the owner of Memphis Barbecue Company, is known as the “Winningest Woman in Competition Barbecue.”

Starting this week you can now enjoy her barbecue, as well as the barbecue from her biggest competitors, nationwide.

Cookston has launched The BBQ All Stars — an online store that is a onestop shop for barbecue from the top names in competition barbecue.

The online store launched Nov. 24, and shipping starts Nov. 30.

In addition to Cookston's barbecue, you can also get barbecue from these top pit masters: Myron Mixon, Tuffy Stone, father and daughter duo Mike and Amy Mills, Malcom Reed and Heath Riles.

The pit masters of The BBQ All Stars are some of the top barbecue folks in the country. Each has won some of the biggest competition titles and is renowned worldwide for their barbecue skills. Four of the six are in the Barbecue Hall of Fame, and two are known nationwide for their Youtube educational videos.

“I was very picky about who I called to do this,” Cookston said. Each of the pit masters has been a fierce competitor to the others on the competition circuit, but over the years, they have become friends as well.

“I know of no place else you can get this caliber of barbecue in one place and have it delivered straight to your front door,” said Cookston.

Cookston recommends sampling from each of the pit masters. “Order six slabs and you be the judge,” said Cookston, explaining that you can mix and match items from each pit master.

In addition to ribs and pulled pork, several add-on items are also available. Sides, sauces, dry rubs and even spiralsliced hams can be ordered.

Cookston has had the idea for this collaboration for a while, ever since she started shipping her own Memphis Barbecue Company products. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed her to make the vision a reality.

“We are much stronger as a team, than as a single unit,” Cookston said, explaining how the pandemic has been devastating to the restaurant and catering business.

All the products on the website are shipped from Cookston's facility in DESoto County.

“Each of us is going back to what we do best — cook barbecue,” said Cookston of the endeavor. “Now we can put it on people's doorstep.”
