Birdie Mae Kimmons Adediran was born to the late Melvin and Henretter Kimmons on January 31, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee. She transition­ed to her Heavenly home on December 28, 2020.

As a child, Birdie accepted Christ at Castalia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Calvin Mims. Birdie loved to sing. In later years, she became one of Castalia’s choir directors.

Birdie was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She continued her education by receiving Nursing Assistant training in Job Corps. Birdie thrived in her passion and utilized her gifts in caring for the elderly.

Birdie’s warm, caring nature, love, smile, and laughter will always be remembered.

Birdie is preceded in death by her brother, Bennie Kimmons and grandson, Eric Ligon.

Birdie leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life three children from her union to Thomas Ligon, Sr, Angela Popp (Anthony), Pamela Ligon (Derrick Miles), and Thomas Ligon; Grandchild­ren, Taylor Ligon (Brooke), Chakira Ligon, Kaitlin Dennis, David Temple, and D’erykah Miles; Great Grandchild­ren, Kinsley Martin and Amir Dowdy; Siblings, Rosetter Williams, Beatrice Kimmons, Cindy Cain (Clinton), Melvin Kimmons, Jr, Charles Kimmons, Larry Kimmons, David Kimmons (Tonya), Magnolia Kimmons, Ernest Rooks (Wanda) and Clyde Rooks (Noreen); Special Friends, Tony and Frederick Adediran and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Due to the pandemic, a celebratio­n of life will occur at a later date.
