5 dead, 4 injured during 6 weekend shootings across Shelby County

At least five people have died and four more were injured in six separate shootings across Shelby County over the holiday weekend.

Memphis police reported four people had been killed and another three injured in five separate shootings in the city on Friday, Sunday and Monday.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department reported one person had died and a second was injured after a shooting Sunday night in the 7700 block of Belmont Run Cove in southeast Shelby County.

The department later identified the person who was killed as Moasies Hardy, 23. The injured party, who has not been identified, was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition.

MPD officers were called to Methodist South on Friday night after two people who had been shot at 4070 Elvis Presley Blvd. were brought to the hospital. Both men died after arriving at the hospital.

Memphis police responded to a shooting at 1921 Thrift Ave. around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. A man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was located walking home, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sunday night, officers were called to Methodist South around 11 after two victims with gunshot wounds arrived at the hospital. One man died at the hospital. A second man had non-critical injuries. Both were shot near the intersecti­on of Tchulahoma Road and Shelby Drive.

Around 3 a.m. Monday, MPD officers responded to a shooting at 7101 Winchester Road. One man was located with gunshot wounds and was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition.

On Monday afternoon, Memphis police responded to a shooting at 3439 Emerald St. One man was shot and was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition. MPD detained one man in relation to the shooting.
