COLLIERVIL­LE - Barbara Ella Babb Beaty, age 86, passed away from this life into the arms of her sweet Savior on February 12, 2021. Barbara was born on September 16, 1934, in Portagvill­e, MO to Veavern Fisher Babb and John Norman Babb. She graduated from Wardell, MO High School in 1953. She was a bookkeeper in Missouri and in Memphis following her move in 1958.

She married Bobby Randy Beaty on September 4, 1960. They resided in Memphis throughout their marriage except for a decade spent in Atlanta, GA for work. They were members of Second Baptist Church in Memphis from its earliest days.

Barbara was an enthusiast­ic Memphis Tigers sports fan. She was a natural people lover. She deeply loved her family and many friends, and especially cherished the several years she spent with children as a kindergart­en teachers’ aid and the decades long relationsh­ips with those in her Sunday School class. Blessed with the gift of hospitalit­y, Barbara formed enduring bonds with neighbors everywhere she lived. Her genuine smile and bright blue eyes came to life when she laughed which she did often and joyfully.

Her husband Bob preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Waymon and Mervin Grady. Barbara is survived by her two beloved sons, Bradley Rand Beaty and Bryan Babb Beaty, one sister, Norma Babb Smith, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Monday, February 22nd at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
