Vols signee Chandler named Mcdonald’s All-american
Former Briarcrest standout Kennedy Chandler has been named a 2021 Mcdonald's All-american.
For the second year in a row, the game will not be played due to COVID-19.
Chandler, a 6-foot-1 guard and Tennessee signee, is playing at Sunrise Christian in Wichita, Kansas, after transferring last May.
The two-time DII-AA Mr. Basketball winner led Briarcrest to a state title in 2019.
He is a five-star prospect and rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 point guard in the 2021 class and No. 13 overall.
Chandler's selection makes it three years in a row that a Tennessee signee has been picked for the game. Guard Jaden Springer was selected in 2020 and guard Josiah-jordan James in 2019.
Chandler is the 18th Mcdonald's Allamerican selection for Tennessee coach Rick Barnes.
