HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL POWER RANKINGS
1. Hutchison (21-2): First the Sting eliminated two-time defending TSSAA DII-AA state champ Ensworth in the semifinals. Then they brought home the first state title in school history with a 41-34 victory over Knoxville Catholic. Kaia Barnett led the way with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Last week: No. 2
2. Olive Branch (24-1): The Lady Quistors won their third consecutive state title with a 66-62 win over Germantown (Madison, Mississippi). Rhema Pegues, who had 28 points and nine rebounds, was named MVP. Last week: No. 1
3. Briarcrest (20-4): The Saints, which fell to Father Ryan in the DII-AA were the only local team to beat Hutchison. Briarcrest won nine of its final ten games. Last week: No. 3
4. Arlington (13-8): After being removed from the playoffs by TSSAA due to an incident in the school's parking lot where an opposing coach was punched after a game, Arlington is awaiting a court ruling on Tuesday to determine whether it can continue its season. Last week: No. 4
5. Covington (22-5): The Chargers punched their ticket to the state tournament with a 44-41 sectional win over Jackson South Side. It's the second state tournament appearance in three years for Covington. Last week: No. 6
6. Northpoint Christian (23-4): Isabella Carlson scored 15 points as the Trojans lost 42-40 in the DII-A semifinals against Providence Christian. Brylee Cherry had 11 points and five rebounds. Last week: No. 7
7. Tipton-rosemark (12-2): The Rebels had three scorers in double figures, but fell to eventual DII-A state champion Webb School in the quarterfinals.

8. Hernando (22-6): The Tigers fell 62-48 to eventual MHSAA Class 6A state champion Olive Branch in the second round. Last week: No. 8
9. Fayette-ware (15-7): The Wildcats fell to Covington in the Region 8-AA title game and were eliminated by Westview in the sectionals. Last week: No. 9
10. Collierville (20-7): A 41-29 win in the Region 8-AAA set up a sectional match between the Dragons and Arlington. Mallory Taylor was named region tournament MVP. Last week: No. 10
