MEMPHIS - Mack Henry Reed was born on November 14, 1930 in Senatobia, MS to Mack Duffy Reed and Azalee Williams Reed. He gained his wings on Thursday, April 8, 2021 peacefully. He was a member of Morning View Baptist Church for over 60 plus years as the Chairman Emeritus of the Deacon Board and Trustee Board. He was the Church Photograph­er and a Sunday School Teacher.

He was drafted in the US Army and served on active duty from 1951-1953 and as an Active Reserve from 1953-1959. He is a Korean War Veteran.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, he attended Owen College (now Lemoyne-owen College), both in Memphis, TN. He obtained a certificat­ion as a Carpenter through United Brotherhoo­d of Carpenters and Jointer of America and the Foley Institute where he obtained his profession­al locksmith license.

The oldest of three children, he was predecease­d by his mother, father and two brothers, Elmore and Charles Reed.

He was married to the “Love of His Life”, the late Charlie Mae Reed and they celebrated over 60 years together.

He leaves to cherish in memory his supportive and loving children, Damita Reed Hameen (Basim) and Dr. Jarvis D. Reed (Dr. Patrice) and six wonderful grandchild­ren, Atty Jarred Reed, Jessica Reed, Jordan Reed, Jason Reed, Aliyah Hameen and Sultan Hameen.; 7 In-laws and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins from the Williams and Reed Family.

He was involved in numerous Masonic Orders and held many leadership positions. He was a Silver Life Member of the NAACP; Past Elected Trustee and Life Member of the Carpenter Local Union No. 345.

Visitation will be at Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, April 16th from 5 to 7. The funeral service will be a private service for the family.
