Estella Frances Middlebrook Powell

NEW YORK, NY - Estella Frances Middlebrook Powell, passed away, March 25, 2021 in New York, NY, where she had resided since graduation from Memphis, Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1962.

The second of two children born to Mary Frances Middlebrook Jeffries and Willie T. Waters.

Retired from New York City School System, June 30, 2019, having taught at Manhattan High School.

Her memory will be dearly cherished by her loving maternal siblings; brother, Rev. Harold A. (Betty) Middlebrook, Knoxville; David L. (Evelyn) Jeffries, Memphis, TN; sisters, Beverly A. Moore, Hollie Marie Jeffries, Mary Frances O’conner, all of Memphis, Phyllis D. (Charles) Harrison, Kingston, Mass; nieces and nephews to include, Ursula Lomax and Jeffrey Hines; great and great- grand nieces and nephews, cousin, Rose Helen King, Los Vegas, Nevada; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services, 2:00 p.m., April 16, 2011 at R. S. Lewis Funeral Home, 2944 Walnut Grove, Memphis, TN.
