Diamondbac­ks at NATIONALS, late: Joe Ross pitched six sharp innings and the Washington Nationals threw their first regular-season shutout at Busch Stadium, blanking the St. Louis Cardinals 6-0 Wednesday.

Rangers at RAYS, late: Nate Lowe hit a solo homer and Texas rookie Kohei Arihara got his first major league victory, pitching into the sixth inning Wednesday night as the Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1.

Blue Jays at ROYALS, late: Salvador Pérez homered and doubled to cap off an impressive series, leading Brad Keller and the Royals over the Los Angeles Angels 6-1 on Wednesday.

Tigers at ATHLETICS, late: Ramón Laureano hit a two-run homer, rookie Seth Brown connected for his big league home run and the Oakland Athletics beat the Houston Astros 7-3.

Rockies at DODGERS, late: Justin Turner homered and drove in two runs, and rookie Zach Mckinstry added a late homer in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 4-2 victory over the Rockies Wednesday.

Phillies at METS, ppd.: The finale of the four-game series between the Mets and Phillies was postponed because of rain Thursday, New York’s third washout in five days.
