Brooks scores season-high 32 points for Grizzlies

Dillon Brooks brought out a pair of multicolor­ed Louis Vuitton sunglasses for the post-game press conference. He said they were called “millionair­e glasses.”

It was only fitting that he showed up in flashy shades after scoring a season-high 32 points to lead the Grizzlies to a 126-115 win over the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Friday night.

The Bulls were without leading-scorer Zach Lavine, who missed the game due to health and safety protocols. The Bulls have lost five in a row.

The game was tied at halftime, but the Grizzlies scored 37 points in the third quarter and eventually led by as much as 18 in the fourth.

The Grizzlies beat the Bulls 101-90 at Fedex Forum on Monday.

Dillon Brooks scores season-high 32 points

Brooks was 12-of-19 shooting and scored 15 points in the third quarter and knocked down three 3-pointers. His previous season-high was 28. His careerhigh is 36.

“I’m focused on my follow-through and just how much I bend my knees to get some lift on the shot,” Brooks said. “And once it starts feeling good I want to be able to take those shots more. Figure out how to get my teammates involved more as well.”

Kyle Anderson’s shot wasn’t falling, but he still made an impact

Kyle Anderson missed six of his first seven shots, including five consecutiv­e 3-pointers. However, he found other ways to stuff the stat sheet for the Grizzlies.

He grabbed 11 rebounds, dished 7 assists, and blocked a pair of shots.

Efficient minutes from Xavier Tillman

Xavier Tillman scored in double-figures for the third time this month. He had points off the bench in the first quarter. The rookie forward finished with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes.

“I think X shows a lot of versatilit­y on both sides of the floor,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “I thought he ran the floor really well, was a great screen-setter, obviously found moments to get out to the 3-point line and knock it down. I just love the confidence he’s showing there over the last couple of games.”

Six Grizzlies in double-figures

The Grizzlies spread the scoring around, with Brooks, Jonas Valanciuna­s, Ja Morant, Grayson Allen, and Tyus Jones in double-figures. They also took care of the ball, posting 33 assists against five turnovers.
