Tigers 7, Rangers 5: Eric Haase hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Detroit extended its winning streak to a season-best seven games by topping slumping Texas. Zack Short and Victor Reyes also homered for the Tigers, who completed a four-game sweep.

Braves at PHILLIES, late: Philadelph­ia is 27-17 on its home turf. Atlanta has gone 20-23 away from home. The Phillies won the last meeting 4-3 on June 10. Jose Alvarado recorded his fifth victory and Jean Segura went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIS for Philadelph­ia. Chris Martin took his second loss for Atlanta.

Rays at CLEVELAND, late: Cleveland is 24-19 on its home turf. Tampa Bay is 27-21 on the road. The Rays won the last meeting 4-0 on July 7. Josh Fleming secured his seventh victory and Taylor Walls went 2-for-3 with two RBIS for Tampa Bay. Sam Hentges took his fourth loss for Cleveland.

Padres at MARLINS, late: Miami is 22-21 on its home turf. The Marlins have a collective on-base percentage of .295, led by Starling Marte with a mark of .380. San Diego is 23-23 on the road. The Padres have slugged .411 this season. Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the team with a mark of .654.

Yankees at RED SOX, late: Boston is 28-19 on its home turf. New York is 23-21 in road games. The Yankees won the last meeting 9-1 on Sunday. Jameson Taillon recorded his fifth victory and Ryan Lamarre went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIS for New York. Martin Perez took his sixth loss for Boston.

Cubs at CARDINALS, late: Yadier Molina doubled home the winning run against All-star closer Craig Kimbrel in the 10th inning to give St. Louis a 3-2 victory over Chicago on Wednesday night. Adam Wainwright pitched seven strong innings for the Cardinals. Harrison Bader and Dylan Carlson each hit an RBI double in the seventh to put St. Louis ahead 2-1.

Angels at TWINS, late: Minnesota is 22-25 in home games in 2020. Los Angeles is 19-26 on the road. The Twins won the last meeting 6-3 on May 20. Jose Berrios earned his fourth victory and Miguel Sano went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBIS for Minnesota. Griffin Canning took his third loss for Los Angeles.

Athletics at MARINERS, late: Seattle is 29-20 in home games in 2021. Oakland is 25-18 in road games. The Athletics won the last meeting 6-0 on June 2. Sean Manaea earned his fourth victory and Mitch Moreland went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIS for Oakland. Chris Flexen registered his third loss for Seattle.

Giants at Dodgers, late: Wilmer Flores hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning and San Francisco rallied past Los Angeles 4-2 on Wednesday night. Mike Yastrzemsk­i homered early to help the Giants regain a two-game lead in the NL West over the defending World Series champions.
