Here’s a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:

The law firm of Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan announced attorney Kimberly N. Perry has joined its Memphis office as Of Counsel. She received her law degree from the University of Memphis. Her areas of practice include general liability, premises liability and workers’ compensati­on. Prior to joining the firm, Perry worked in insurance defense litigation and was plaintiff’s counsel for one of the largest plaintiff ’s firms in the state. Additional­ly, she has been a solo practition­er.

The Community Legal Center named Memphis attorney Diana M. Comes as its executive director, following the retirement in March of Anne Mathes, who had led the nonprofit legal agency since August 2015. Previously, Comes was a partner with Butler Snow, where she focused her practice on commercial and appellate litigation. She earned her law degree from the University of Memphis.

Lisa Fields has joined Marx-bensdorf as an affiliate broker. She has served as a Realtor in the Memphis area since 2005. Fields is a member of the Memphis Associatio­n of REALTORS (MAAR) and a life member of MAAR’S Multi-million Dollar Club. She earned her bachelor of science in psychology and marketing from Belmont University.

Former bank executive Kenneth W. Plunk has been named chairman of First Commercial Bank’s Memphis advisory board. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis, the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, the Tennessee Executive Developmen­t Program and the Stanford Executive Program. Plunk retired from Union Planters Corp. (now Regions Financial Corp.) in 2004.

Germantown attorney James “Jim” Barry took office recently as vice president of the Tennessee Bar Associatio­n at the group’s annual convention in Memphis. Barry will advance to the presidency in 2023. He has long been active in the TBA, serving on the TBA’S Board of Governors, as chair of the TBA’S Access to Justice Committee and as cochair for many years of the TBA’S Corporate Counsel Pro Bono Initiative. Outside of the TBA, Barry has held leadership roles with the Associatio­n of Corporate Counsel, the Community Legal Center in Memphis, Memphis Area Legal

Services, the Memphis Bar Associatio­n, the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services and the Tennessee Justice Center.

Remington College Memphis Campus last month entered into an articulati­on agreement with Northwest Mississipp­i Community College allowing students at Remington College to transition with ease to NWCC, accredited by the Southern Associatio­n of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
