MEMPHIS - Memphis – William Stratton Pickering, 84, of Memphis, TN, son of the late Joe Davis Pickering and Anne Hutton Pickering passed away early Saturday morning, August 14, 2021. He is preceded in death by his brother Joe Davis Pickering and wife Frances. He leaves behind his sister Nancy Pickering Douglas (Bill) of Memphis, nephews William Chandler Douglas (Jane) of Fayettevil­le, Arkansas, Joseph Morgan Douglas (Joan) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and a niece Nancy Anne Douglas France (Harold) of Colliervil­le, TN who he loved like they were his own children. He also leaves many great nieces and a great nephew.

Bill graduated from Germantown High School in 1955. He attended Memphis State University where he was a member of SAE. Bill loved his community and volunteere­d tirelessly for the Germantown Charity Horse Show and always loved working with horses. He was active in his church, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and spent many volunteer hours helping the church in numerous ways. He had a very strong faith and loved the Lord.

He enjoyed working for First Tennessee Bank, Country Club Towers, The Woodruff Fontaine House, and a pet shop.

He enjoyed life and appreciate­d all his blessings. We would also like to thank the community of Feels Like Home Senior Living for their kindness these last few years. You treated Bill like family, and we thank you.
