The westbound lanes of Interstate 40 on the Hernando de Soto Bridge will be shut down for eight hours today to allow filming of the concluding scene of The Rainmaker. Motorists can expect a 15- to 30-minute delay, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The eastbound lanes of I-40 will not be affected. ”All possible precautions are being taken to minimize the inconvenience to motorists traveling in the area,” State Transportation Commissioner Bruce Saltsman said.

For the first time, women will be among those receiving scouting’s top honors from the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America in ceremonies tonight. Two women will be presented Silver Fawn awards for outstanding service to scouting at a recognition dinner at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn-rivermont. Silver Fawn is the woman’s counterpart of the Silver Beaver award, which will be presented to 10 men.
