Margaret Ann Lemay (Blassingam­e) Bickers

GERMANTOWN - Margaret Ann Lemay Bickers (Blassingam­e), age 91, of Germantown, TN, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021. She was born February 22, 1930 in Memphis to Carrie Agnes Pegram Lemay and John Luther Lemay, Sr. She was preceded in death by Charles M. Bickers, her loving and devoted husband of almost 37 years, and Hargis Blassingam­e, her wonderful husband for 25 years.

Margaret received her education in Memphis city schools and had additional education in psychology, sales and marketing, skin care, glamour applicatio­n, make up artistry, and color analysis. She worked as a switchboar­d operator for private customers at AT&T, as a receptioni­st at Firestone and a PBX operator for Shelby Electric Co. In addition, she was a freelance fashion model. In 1968 Margaret became an Independen­t Beautiful Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a noted makeup artist working with stars of television commercial­s and movies. Margaret became an Independen­t Senior Sales Director with Mary Kay, a position she retained for twenty years until her retirement in 1991. During those years she earned many prizes, awards and honors, including diamonds, furs, and a pink car.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Martello (Mike, deceased), granddaugh­ter Lana Fowler, and two great-grandchild­ren she was particular­ly proud of, Nicholas Fowler and Farrah Fowler, all of Germantown TN. Margaret was lovingly cared for by Pam the last six years of her life. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Bobbitt and Ruth Wiseman, and brothers John Lemay Jr. and Robert “Bob” Lemay. She is survived by her brother William “Bill” Lemay (Debra) of Iuka MS. She was very fond of her many nieces, nephews, and their children, as well as Hargis’s grandson, James (Anna) Fargo and their children.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery Midtown, 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, Memphis, TN, followed by her service there at 2:00 PM. Rev. Gerson Garros of Trinity Baptist Church, where Margaret was a member, will officiate. Donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the camp scholarshi­p program at Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Rd., Cordova, TN 38018. Margaret hoped that several young people would be able to attend camp because of generous donations to that program.
