NESBIT - Willie Mae White, 97, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Willie, or Memaw as she has been known by all her family and friends, was born in 1925 in Burnsville, MS to Kelly and Ruby Timbes the older of two children. She moved to Memphis to live with her mother’s cousin Louis and her husband Thomas Dilworth to attend high school. She graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1943. Silas Quinton White and Willie began their lives together in high school and were married in 1943 shortly before Quinton joined the Army and left for war. Upon returning from the war in 1946 they began their family by raising three children, creating an enduring 75 years of marriage together. Willie worked as a housewife and later as a physician’s assistant for 25 years before retiring in 1988 to be with Quinton, the love of her life. Willie loved her large family and devoted her life to Christ, to her three children, seven grandchild­ren, and fourteen great grandchild­ren.

She was a member of Whitehaven Methodist Church for more than 50 plus years before moving to Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Her large family cherished their memories with Memaw and Pepaw as known to their many grandchild­ren, they adored them all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton; survived by daughter Nancy Johnson (Jack deceased); son Tommy (Marianne); grandchild­ren, Ronnie (Kim), Clay Johnson (Ginny), Kelly Lumpkin (Bryan), Jennifer Everett (Lewis), Jason Dill (Michelle), Tim (Melissa), Brett (Morissa); great grandchild­ren, Seth (Bailey) and Abby Johnson, Nathan and Jackson Lumpkin, Jaxson and Jase Dill, Tanner and Tara White, Leighton, Brantley, and Macy Jo White. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ron (Betty), her daughter-in-law, Tara and brother, Robert “Buddy”.

The visitation with family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service starting at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN, 38119. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Memphis, TN and/or Minor Memorial United Methodist Church, Walls, MS.
