Nancy Uzzelle Erb passed away peacefully at 90 years of age after a long and full life. Nancy was born in Memphis on January 21, 1933, the only child of Elaine Boone Uzzelle and John Wesley Uzzelle.

Nancy was predecease­d by her beloved husband Guy

Thomas Erb after 62 years of marriage, and their son John Uzzelle Erb. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r and will be remembered for her beautiful contagious smile and her sweet gentle happy spirit. She and Guy are now reunited together in the presence of our Lord.

Nancy grew up on the Uzzelle family farm in

Joiner, Arkansas until leaving for boarding school at St Mary’s School in Memphis for her 8th and 9th grades. She then attended Hutchison School, Stratford Hall in Danville, Virginia, Holton Arms Junior College in Washington DC, and graduated from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was an avid fan and cheerleade­r for all the UNC teams.

Following graduation from college, she met Guy Thomas Erb, the love of her life. They married in 1956 at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, Tennessee.

On any given day you would find Nancy playing tennis with Guy or playing bridge with her friends. She and Guy loved gardening together, cooking and trying out new recipes while using the fresh vegetables and herbs from their garden. They loved escaping to Tunica occasional­ly, where they kept a tally of quarters won on the slot machines.

As a member of Memphis Garden Club, Nancy flourished winning several awards: the Louisa R. Morrow Trophy, the Margaret Oats Dixon Award, the
