- Jessica Meador Morris, of Eads, TN, beloved wife, and soulmate of Ronald Turnage Morris, passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 76. Jessica was born December 17, 1946, in Memphis to John Jesse & Georgia Fay Meador. Jessica and Ron were married over 57 years and were high school sweetheart­s.

She is survived by her nephew John Steven Lloyd and his wife Lynda Ross Lloyd, 2 great nephews, 3 great great nephews, and 4 great great nieces.

Jessica graduated from Messick High School in 1964 and the University of Tennessee in 1971. She worked for Exxon for 17 years beginning in 1974 and was a trail blazer for profession­al women in computer system support. She was known as “Wonder Woman” to the personnel at the Exxon Memphis terminal because she always came through in solving their electronic card reader system problems. In 1991 she left Exxon to form her own personnel computer consulting business, counting among her many clients, the Memphis Symphony, and Rhodes College.

Jessica became a Master Gardener in 2005 and enjoyed giving talks to garden clubs throughout the Memphis area, particular­ly on the cultivatio­n of orchids. Her yard in their retirement home in Eads was a popular site for garden tours.

Famous for her culinary accomplish­ments, Jessica gave lavish dinner parties, especially during the holidays. Her Rave Review Coconut Cake was always a hit, even when guests were stuffed from the multi course meals that preceded it.

A lover of animals, Jessica had a series of special cats, sometimes as many as three at once. She was an avid bridge player, good at any games and puzzles and enjoyed entertaini­ng neighbors, bridge clubs, and family. Anyone who met her knew immediatel­y that she was smart, accomplish­ed and a great person to have around.

Jessica and Ron enjoyed traveling to different countries, especially Australia and New Zealand.

An avid supporter of the University of Tennessee College of Engineerin­g, she and Ron sponsored scholarshi­ps and provided funding for many Memphis area high school students to attend the annual Engineers Day.

Jessica was very special lady and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

No services are planned but a celebratio­n of Jessica’s life will be scheduled later. in lieu of flowers, please plan on supporting the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n or your favorite charity.
