-

Lynn Carol Burrows Henderson, 86, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Baton Rouge. She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on January 22, 1937. Her birth parents were the late Walter Burrows and Faye Woodford Burrows. At age 5 she moved to Baton Rouge and was raised by her cherished uncle and aunt, the late Frank and Ruth Probst Woodford. She grew up on S. Eugene across from the old Baton Rouge High tennis courts. Lynn walked every day to Dufrocq Elementary School and later to Baton Rouge High. She was a proud Bulldog, graduating in 1954. She briefly attended LSU before working several jobs downtown. Although they grew up only a few blocks apart, she did not know her future husband, Troy L. Henderson, Jr., until they met downtown. They married in 1958 and on their honeymoon in New Orleans they attended the Sugar Bowl where LSU won its first National Championship! In 1960 they moved to Memphis, TN where they made their home and raised their four children. Throughout her life Lynn enjoyed faith, family, music, classic movies, fashion, world events, politics, watching golf, and cheering on LSU football with her family.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Troy, her sister Dr. Shirley Woodford Mckowen, and brother-in-law Henry G. Mckowen. She leaves behind her greatest source of pride and joy: two sons, Troy (Laurie) Henderson, III and Joe Henderson; two daughters, Susan (Don) Madeksho and Pattie (Charlie) White, and a bonus daughter, Donna (Wendell) Dufur Lindsey; six grandchildren, Sam (Natalie) Henderson; Charles White; Jacob White; Troy Henderson, IV; Adrienne Madeksho; and Julia Henderson; and two great grandsons, Sammy Rojcewicz and James Henderson. The family wishes to thank her Home Instead sitter, Susan Witherspoon, and all the staff at Holly Court Assisted Living, especially Ms. Veronica and Ms. Sheila.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, from 9-10:30, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. On Wednesday, March 8, a brief graveside service and burial beside her beloved husband will be held at 11:30 at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East in Baton Rouge has charge of the arrangements.
