TSSAA girls basketball state tournament watch list

The TSSAA Division I girls basketball state tournament begins Tuesday morning at the Murphy Center in Murfreesbo­ro and will end with Saturday’s championsh­ip games in Classes 1A through 4A.

Here’s a look at some of the top players who will be participat­ing in this week’s state tournament.

Mallory Collier, Bartlett, Sr.: A 6foot-5 center who’s signed with North Carolina State, Collier averages 11.6 points and 7.1 rebounds and is a finalist for 4A Miss Basketball.

Nevaeh Scott, Bartlett, Sr.: Scott leads the seventh-ranked Panthers in scoring with 12.5 points per game and also averages 2.7 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Natalya Hodge, Bearden, Fr.: Hodge averages 14.3 points, 4.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 steals for the defending 4A state champions.

Avery Treadwell, Bearden, Sr.: Treadwell is averaging 16.7 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. The Florida State signee is a finalist for 4A Miss Basketball.

Kaelyn Flowers, Blackman, Jr.: Flowers is averaging 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game for the third-ranked Blaze.

Emily Monson, Blackman, Sr.: Monson averages 15.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and is shooting 41% from 3-point range on over seven attempts per game. She’s signed with Purdue.

Sloan Carpenter, Bradley Central, Sr.: A Johnson University signee, Carpenter is a four-year starter at point guard for No. 2 Bradley Central and averages less than a turnover per game.

Kimora Fields, Bradley Central, Fr.: Fields was the District 5-4A regular season and tournament MVP and already holds an offer from Chattanoog­a.

Imari Berry, Clarksvill­e, Jr.: A 4A Miss Basketball finalist and the No. 32 overall recruit in the country, Berry averages 26.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.7 steals.

MJ Simmons, Community, Sr.: The District 7-2A MVP is averaging 20.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the 10th-ranked Viqueens.

Cassie Gallagher, Cookeville, Sr.:

The USC Upstate signee averages 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Cavaliers, ranked fifth in 4A.

Jordan Gillies, Cookeville, Sr.: Gillies averages 13.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals and is signed with Kentucky Wesleyan.

Lucy Curry, Dresden, Sr.: The District 13-1A MVP averages 13.3 points, 4.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals for the seventh-ranked Lions.

Caitlyn Berry, Dyer County, Sr.: Berry was named All-district 13-3A this season and was selected to play in the BCAT Allstar Game.

Joya Crawford, Dyersburg, So.: Crawford averages 21.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals to lead the Trojans.

Lina Lyon, Elizabetht­on, Sr.: Lyon leads the Cyclones, who are ranked fourth in 3A, by averaging 16.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.3 steals.

Nya Burns, Gatlinburg-pittman, Fr.: Burns averages 13.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game for the fourth-ranked Highlander­s.

Maddy Newman, Gatlinburg-pittman, Jr.: Newman is averaging 20.7 points and 6.8 rebounds on 61% fieldgoal shooting and is a finalist for 2A Miss Basketball.

Micah Hart, Gibson County, Jr.: Hart averages 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals per game for the fifth-ranked Pioneers.

Lauren Bailey, Greenevill­e, Sr.: Bailey is a 3A Miss Basketball finalist and Gardner-webb signee who averages 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Chloe Marsh, Greenevill­e, Sr.: Marsh averages 14 points, 12 rebounds and three steals for the sixth-ranked Greene Devils.

Aubrey Blankenshi­p, Green Hill, Sr.: The Samford signee averages 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Madison Mcclain, Hampton, Sr.: Mcclain is averaging 13.4 points, 6.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals to lead the third-ranked Bulldogs.

Albany Collins, Jackson South Side, Sr.: Collins leads the unbeaten, topranked Hawks with 15 points per game while shooting 43% from deep.

Ti’mia Lawson, Jackson South Side, Sr.: The Class 3A Miss Basketball finalist averages 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Ellie Butler, Livingston Academy, So.: Butler averaged 19.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.6 steals en route to being named District 7-3A MVP for the fifthranke­d Wildcats.

Savannah Davis, Mckenzie, Jr. Davis was last season’s 1A Miss Basketball winner and is committed to Middle Tennessee. She missed two months this season due to an injury but averages 17 points, 5.8 rebounds and is hitting 48% of her 3pointers.

Kylie Reynolds, Mckenzie, Sr.: The Miss Basketball finalist is signed with Bethel and averages 16.6 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 38% from outside.

Karina Bystry, Mcminn Central, So.: Bystry is averaging 16.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game for the Chargers, ranked sixth in 2A.

Molly Massingale, Mcminn Central, Jr.: Massingale averages 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.6 steals while shooting 40% from beyond the arc.

Sonya Wagner, North Greene, Sr.: Wagner averages 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Myricle Johnson, Peabody, Jr.: Johnson leads the Golden Tide averaging nine points, five rebounds and three steals per game and was named District 14-1A Tournament MVP.

Emmy Lowe, Pickett County, So.:

Lowe leads the sixth-ranked Bobcats with averages of 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals per contest.

Jayla Davenport, Riverside, Jr.: Davenport was this season’s District 13-2A regular season MVP and led the Panthers to the state tournament for the second straight season. She averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds as a sophomore.

Heather Bartholome­w, Scotts Hill, Sr.: Bartholome­w was the District 13-2A tournament MVP this season and averaged 11.6 points as she led the Lions to state a season ago.

Hailey Williams, Sevier County, Sr.: Williams was the District 2-4A MVP this season and is a UVA-WISE signee.

Hallie Allen, South Gibson, Jr.: Allen is averaging 13.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals for the Hornets, ranked eighth in 3A.

Jayla Cobb, Upperman, Sr.: Cobb averages 12.9 points, 6.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals for the defending 3A state champions.

Abigail Johnson, Upperman, Sr.: The 3A Miss Basketball finalist and Tusculum commit averages 15.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Layla Bouldin, Van Buren, Jr.: Bouldin leads the Eagles with averages of 24.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Blair Baugus, Wayne County, So.: Baugus is a 1A Miss Basketball finalist averaging 17.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.0 blocks for the top-ranked, undefeated Wildcats.

Jada Harrison, Westview, Sr.: The 2A Miss Basketball finalist and Middle Tennessee signee leads the defending state champions with 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

Mccall Sims, Westview, So.: Sims averages 11.0 points and is shooting 36.9% from distance, knocking down two 3pointers per game. She’s been offered by Tennessee-martin.

Gabby Beaty, York Institute, Sr.: Beaty averages 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 steals and is shooting 39.4% from 3point distance. She’s signed with Johnson.

Reese Beaty, York Institute, So.: A finalist for 2A Miss Basketball who has 16 Division I offers, Beaty averages 16 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals for the second-ranked Dragons.
