Ne-yo to open 1st restaurant away from Atlanta
Jeremy Scott is stepping down as creative director of Italian luxury house Moschino after 10 years of wild and wacky fashion shows and his elegant dressing of numerous celebrities.
The company made the announcement Monday.
The American designer took over at Moschino in October 2013 with a groundbreaking fall/winter collection that, according to the statement, “launched a thousand debates on the role of fashion in the annals of art, consumerism, and social commentary.”
The Missouri-born Scott has put out collections that focused his pop culture and tongue-in-cheek lens on Barbie, aliens and Ronald Mcdonald. Katy Perry, Madonna, Rita Ora and Zendaya are among celebrities who have worn his creations.
Most recently, he dressed a handful of A-listers for the Oscars, including putting Angela Bassett in a standout custom ultraviolet hand-draped gown with a huge bow neckline.
Singer Ne-yo and celebrity chef Crystal Smith will open Johnny's Chicken and Waffles in metro Phoenix's Westgate Entertainment District on March 31.
The brand first debuted in Atlanta in December of 2020. The Glendale restaurant will be the second location and Ne-yo's first in Arizona.
Located next to Yard House and Opa Life Greek Cafe, the restaurant boasts 6,500 square feet with a 150-person capacity both inside and on its patio. The restaurant will be open for brunch, lunch and dinner daily with a DJ on Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays, it will stay open until 3 a.m.
“Johnny's Chicken & Waffles original location has been a huge hit and we believe it will become a new favorite dining destination at Westgate as well,” Ne-yo said in a press release.
The menu at Johnny's Chicken and Waffles features appetizers, including their award-winning mac and cheese, salads, pick-your-chicken-and-waffle options, entrees, sides and cocktails.
