KNOXVILLE - Barbara Massey Starr, 91 died on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was a resident of Arbor Terrace of Knoxville and a patient of Smoky Mountain Hospice. Barbara died peacefully and moved on to her Heavenly home! She was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis, TN. She was a member of Germantown Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in her Sunday School class, Bible study, and loved to worship Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Barbara is predecease­d by her husband, and best friend, of 58 years, Robert William Starr. Barbara is survived by her three children, Bill and Cindy Starr of Knoxville, TN; Lisa Starr of Bradenton, FL; and Kathy and Dan Drews of Cumming, GA; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Allen of Jacksonvil­le FL. She was “Mamma” to her 5 grandchild­ren, Bethany and (Danny) Sharp; Janell and (Krish) Iyer; Jordan and (AJ) Aspinwall; Danielle Drews, and Amanda Drews. Barbara leaves behind 8 great-grandchild­ren: Will Sharp, Hannah Sharp, Sam Sharp, Holly Sharp, Jaya Iyer, Jesse Aspinwall, Eden Aspinwall, and Lydia Aspinwall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Barbara’s greatest joy was being a homemaker, moving 17 times with Bob for his career, volunteeri­ng at her children’s schools and being the #1 cheerleade­r in all their activities. She loved aerobics, Bible study, cooking shows, crime shows, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.

The immediate family will celebrate Barbara’s life with a small, private graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Memorials can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
