Memphis-area rankings: Bartlett girls remain No. 1
The regular season is quickly coming to an end for the Tennessee high school girls basketball season. Here's a look at the top girls basketball teams with the postseason on the horizon.
1. Bartlett (18-10): The Panthers have four games this week to wrap up the regular season, including district games against Collierville, Southwind and Germantown. Last week’s ranking: No. 1.
2. Memphis East (20-4): The Mustangs have won the last seven games and finish up the regular season against Kingsbury and Memphis Central this week. Last week’s ranking: No. 2.
3. Whitehaven (17-5): Tierney Kelsey scored 18 points to help the Tigers defeat White Station last week. They have a game against Memphis Central this week. Last week’s ranking: No. 3.
4. Collierville (20-7): The Dragons have won the last four game and have a region game against Bartlett this week. Last week’s ranking: No. 4.
5. Center Hill (20-5): The Mustangs grabbed two wins in three games last week to wrap up the Mississippi High School Activities Association regular season. Last week’s ranking: No. 5.
6. Hutchison (19-2): Ava Jones' 21 points helped the Sting defeat St. Benedict last week. They play at Briarcrest this week. Last week’s ranking: No. 6.
7. Lewisburg (19-7): The Patriots ended the regular season winning their final three games. Last week’s ranking: No. 7.
8. Middle College (21-2): The Bulldogs have won the last nine games and remain undefeated in district play. Last week’s ranking: No. 8.
9. Hernando (19-5): The Tigers enter the postseason with a lot of momentum, having won the last nine games. Last week’s ranking: No. 10.
10. Houston (14-9): Anna Lee Avery scored 19 points for the Mustangs in their win over Germantown. It ended a three-game skid. Last week’s ranking: No. 9.
