Linda Lea (Hollis) Giza
MEMPHIS - On January 13, 2024, an angel in the shape of our mom spread her wings and made her way to heaven. Linda left this world in a better place than how she found it. Her generous nature, love of life, notorious sense of humor, and a long list of practical jokes will live on in the hearts of the many she left behind.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joe Giza; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Fred Strassburger; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Art Ward; daughter, Laura Hollis; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Loree Hollis; daughter, Brandi Hollis; grandchildren, Casey, Robert, Dallas, and Isabella; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Journey. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Newman; siblings, Patty, Larry, Frankie, and Bobby; and granddaughters, Daytona & Dawn.
An unparalleled mama bear and Mamaw extraordinaire, Linda’s protective instincts were rivaled only by her boundless generosity. She never met a stranger she couldn’t charm or a moment she couldn’t lighten with her infectious spirit. She loved everyone she met…unless they had something bad to say about her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Linda lived an exciting and adventurous life and will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor the life of this amazing mom, wife, sister, daughter, Mamaw, and friend on Saturday, March 16 at Christ Church Bartlett on Yale Road. Service at 5 pm followed by dinner and fellowship at 6 pm. In place of flowers, we request that you bring your best “Oh, you won’t believe what Linda did this one time” story and non-perishable food donations for the church’s food drive to help those in need.
