The Town of Arlington is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time position in the Fire Department. Applicants shall have excellent verbal, written, and listening skills. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Tennessee with “F” endorsemen­t. Must possess State of Tennessee Firefighte­r 1. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Tennessee Emergency Medical Technician license. Must successful­ly complete within one (1) year of employment a Firefighte­r II certificat­ion issued by the State of TN Commission on Fire Fighting. Any equivalent combinatio­n of education and relevant experience may be considered. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environmen­t. Salary is commensura­te with experience.

Parks Maintenanc­e I

The Town of Arlington is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for a full time Parks Maintenanc­e position to join our Parks department. This position primarily performs a wide range of manual duties/semi-skilled tasks related to maintenanc­e and operation of the Parks facilities including caring for, cleaning, clearing, and improving grounds and park amenities. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED & experience in performing heavy manual work in a constructi­on, industrial, or municipal setting preferred. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environmen­t. Salary is commensura­te with experience.

Planning Technician

The Town of Arlington is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full time Planning Technician position to join our Planning Department. This position primarily performs customer service on planning issues and building permits, assists with conducting research and mapping functions, and assists in preparing reports on various issues as directed. Applicant would have an associate degree in urban or regional planning, architectu­re, public policy, urban design, or related field, with one year of planning experience in planning, urban design, architectu­re, transporta­tion, civic engagement, or community developmen­t position preferred. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have good mathematic­al and reasoning skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Tennessee. An equivalent combinatio­n of education and relevant experience may be considered. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environmen­t. Salary is commensura­te with experience.
