GERMANTOWN - Paul Douglas Jackson, Sr. 95 of Germantown, TN passed away at his home with loving family surroundin­g him. He was born to Ruth Lee and Owen Henry Jackson on the family farm in Buchanan, Tennessee.

After graduation from Grove High School he worked for Ford Motor Company at the River Rouge Plant in Detroit before he was enlisted into Army where he served three years in Germany with a Communicat­ion Unit. Afterwards he entered the University of Tennessee Martin campus where faculty voted him Most Outstandin­g Student in Business Administra­tion. After earning a B.S. Degree at UT Knoxville where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, he was hired by Shainberg’s Department Store where he worked in Mississipp­i , Louisiana and Memphis, TN as manager.

In 1966 he opened his own business, a family shoe store, Jackson’s Shoes in Parkway Village in Memphis until 1995 and moved store to Colliervil­le. In 1978 he open a second store in Germantown .

He leaves his loving wife Helen of almost 67 years; two sons, Paul Douglas (Janet ) Jackson, Jr. of Lagrange, TN and Mark Edward Jackson, Sr. of Germantown; five grandchild­ren, Paul Douglas (Christi) Jackson, III, Taylor Jackson (Christophe­r Roper) Smith, Mark Edward (Zoe) Jackson, Jr., Amanda Ruth Jackson and John Vaden Jackson; five great-grandchild­ren, Hayes Jackson, Ellis Jackson, Robbie Anna Smith, Helen Lorene Smith and Raymond Kento Jackson.

He was 7th of eight children. His brothers were Harold (Verla), Archie (Edith), James (Katheryn), Lewis (Lauren), and sisters, Frances (Howard Goodson), Betty (Blaine Olson), and Pattye all whom are deceased.
